It looks like you are doing these drawings will a number of pencils in your hand at once. It is a fantastic technique. Can you please explain how you hold these pencils at one time? I have tried but cannot get the same kind of line that you are getting. Also what brands of pencils are you using? It appears to be darker and lighter pencils -- I'm guessing you are holding 3 to 5 pencils in your hand while you draw. I've never seen that before. Any information on this technique will be most helpful. Cheers - David.

Thanks Tiny,

I don't " hold " the pencils so much as "will " them to "dance " around the paper to form the magic that you see in front of you. I can say no more than this because a magician never gives up his secrets.I can tell you it's not 3-5 pencils but in fact is a "plethera" of them. Each one hand crafted by the gods themselves. I am but a conduit.

LOL! Really though, I tried this technique last night and I'm not getting your results. Also, today I have a large strain/stress on my fingers and palm. Is this common? I first tried 7 pencils = one between thumb and first finger, second between middle and first, third locked between ring and thumb/first, fourth and fifth curled in pinkie and ring, six and seven in pocket of thumb. It was producing a wonderful line but lacked the control I find in your drawings. Also, what kind of pencils are you using? I asked you that last time and no response. I hope to attend art college next Sept and all info you can provide will help me reach my goals.

Cheers - David

Forgot to ask you this, my cousin, Michael is under the impression that you are drawing many areas of detail and description at once. Is that true? In other words, your page of Toon Heads was done all at once. You are able to focus the correct pencils to different areas of the paper at one time and create marks that add up to many seperate ideas. Is that correct? -David

Kevin! Nice sketches, keep me updated on the sketchbook, I've gotta have one. I'm gonna go work on my "Hundred Pencil" technique, it's freakin unbelievable.

No turning back now! San Diego is about to be WOWED.

I'm interested in your Thor/Superman/Loki masterwork. A "several character composition"? Are you mixing universes!? You daredevil you!

Really nice sketches. For some reason, I really like the casper sketch. You know, I'm very rough myself, so some of your drawings to hearken back home.

The only time I draw with more than one pencil when with my kids drawing on the restaurant tables (with the paper cover of course) Neat technique
